Pheasant and partridge shooting
Enjoy some of the finest driven pheasant and partridge shooting in the UK. Our Wykeham shoot takes full advantage of the spectacular natural terrain and topography of our corner of North Yorkshire. This ranges from the rolling parkland around Wykeham Abbey to the steep wooden valleys of Bedale, Sawdondale and Yedmandale.
Shooting is managed in-hand and let by the day. Overseen by our Head of sporting, the shoot at Wykeham provides a relaxed and enjoyable day with sporting birds. Shooting can be tailored towards your individual team’s requirements.
The season usually starts with Partridge days in late September. This changes to mixed Pheasant and Partridge days as the season progresses.

A typical day’s shoot
The day begins in the former Tack Room at Wykeham Abbey where you will meet your Host and the Head Keepers over coffee. Your Host will explain the procedures for the day and carry out the draw.
Mid mornings are taken in the field and lunch is served in The Old Kitchen at Wykeham Abbey, either at lunchtime, or if preferred, at the end of the day after the last drive.

Shooting location
Shoots begin in Wykeham village, 11 miles east of Pickering and six miles west of Scarborough. Postcode: YO13 9QS

Nearby accommodation
Make a trip of it with an overnight stay in local accommodation ranging from the cosy to the sumptuous. There are some suggestions listed within Shooting.
